Top Things to Do in Dollywood

Dollywood consists of two separate parks which include the main theme park and the Splash Country Waterpark. Dollywood is known for having one of the longest operating seasons of any amusement park, with the main park opening for the 2020 season on March 14th and running through January 2, 2021! Whether you want to experience thrills on the parks roller coasters and thrill rides, or enjoy one of the many shows, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Thrill Rides and Rollercoasters 

The park is home to some of the most unique and exciting thrill rides and rollercoasters in the country! This includes rides the family will enjoy, as well as more extreme rides for the thrill-seekers in your group.  

Nationally recognized roller coasters such as Thunderhead and Wild Eagle draw enthusiasts from around the country, while the indoor Blazing Fury is the perfect family experience. Shows 

One of the park’s biggest draws are the many shows hosted throughout the day. These are included with admission to the park , and are a great way to experience Dollywood’s eastern Tennessee charm that is reflected in singing, dancing, and storytelling.  

Make sure to attend at least one of these shows during your visit! We recommend eating lunch first, and then relaxing afterwards while enjoying the entertainment. On a hot summer day, enjoying a show while relaxing in the shade, and sometimes air condition is a great way to beat the heat! 

Dining 

Speaking of lunch, there are many dining options to choose from in the park. There is an emphasis and appreciation for classic southern fare such as bbq, mac and cheese, and fried chicken. Other options are available for those with dietary restrictions. 

If you’re craving something sweet, there are few better places to visit than Dollywood. Choose from a huge selection of ice cream, funnel cakes, homemade pies, and more!  

Festivals 

Dollywood is known for having festivals and events throughout the year that focus on the current season. There are four main festivals, each related to spring, summer, fall, and winter. We’ve listed these below along with the official dates for 2020:
